WrestleMania 40 "Early" Match Card Predictions !

Its now the month of December & the anticipation for WrestleMania 40 begins to build. Although the event is still several months away, the world of professional wrestling is always abuzz with predictions and speculation. While we may only have limited information at this stage, we can still attempt to decipher WWE's plans for "The Grandest Stage of them All"

In this article, we will delve into the possible match-card for WrestleMania 40, carefully analyzing the available clues and decoding the hints dropped so far.

------------------------------

John Cena vs Logan Paul

The Greatest of all Time vs The Internet Sensation !

John Cena vs Logan Paul have been in rumors for long now, some thinking it might take place at WM39, then SummerSlam but it did not. Now as WM40 is arriving, speculations for this match has picked up again. Logan Paul is currently the United States Champion, and it is highly expected that he will enter WM40 as being the same, so this match, if were to happen, could be for the US title as well. With two extremely popular superstars, not just in WWE but the outside world as well, this will definitely a match which would bring a lot of attraction for WWE.

Jimmy Uso vs Jey Uso

The highly anticipated match between Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso already seems to be set for WrestleMania 40. Following Jimmy's betrayal of Jey at SummerSlam, resulting in his loss, it became increasingly likely that the brothers would soon find themselves at odds with each other. After being separated by the brand, in which Jey going to RAW & Jimmy being on SmackDown, their story seems to be on a temporary break, but it is highly expected that this "brother vs brother" story would soon pick up & resume, which could be happening as soon as Royal Rumble, for their ultimate match at WrestleMania 40.

Finn Balor vs Damian Priest

Undoubtedly, The Judgment Day stands as one of the most dominant factions in the current WWE landscape. However, in the unpredictable realm of professional wrestling, nothing is set in stone, and the inevitable split of Judgment Day looms on the horizon. While there is a possibility that WWE intends to keep JD united for an extended period, the advent of the WrestleMania season has the potential to alter plans significantly. Given the anticipated intensity of this match, it is undoubtedly at the forefront of WWE's considerations. Moreover, it is worth noting that if Damian's Money in the Bank cash-in were to falter, it would present a perfect opportunity to reignite the sparks of tension that emerged between Finn Balor and Damian Priest in the past.

Rey Mysterio vs Dominik Mysterio 2

The clash between Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio, pitting father against son, was undoubtedly a highly entertaining spectacle at WrestleMania 39. While it may appear that their story has reached its conclusion, there is a possibility that this is not the case. If Rey were contemplating retirement, there would be no better stage than to do so in front of his son, elevating him and setting the stage for his future in WWE. However, there is also a chance that Rey may choose to prolong his career for a few more years (which I personally hope is the case). It will be intriguing to witness how WWE navigates this unique dynamic between the two, and what plans they have in store for them moving forward.

Men's & Women's Tag Team Showcase Match

A Fatal Four-Way Tag Team Showcase match, akin to the one featured at WrestleMania 39, could be a compelling addition to WrestleMania 40, providing an opportunity for multiple talents to shine on the grandest stage of them all.

For Men's division the lineup could be like - The New Day vs Street Profits vs DIY vs Pretty Deadly/Creed Brothers

For Women's division the lineup could be like - Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell vs Katana Chance & Kayden Karter vs Isla Dawn & Alba Fyre vs Chelsea Green & Piper Niven

Iyo Sky vs Bayley (WWE Women's Championship)

Since their formation at SummerSlam 2022, Damage CTRL has demonstrated resilience despite encountering various challenges along the way. The addition of Kairi Sane and Asuka has further strengthened the faction. However, Bayley, the founder of the group, has faced adversity in recent times. Speculation has arisen regarding a potential betrayal by the Japanese wrestlers, leading to Bayley's expulsion from her own faction. Following their defeat in the WarGames match at Survivor Series, these rumors have gained traction, suggesting an imminent expulsion of Bayley from Damage CTRL, potentially leading to her transition to a face character and subsequent quest for retribution.

Brock Lesnar vs Gunther

One of the most highly anticipated and thrilling potential matchup at WrestleMania 40 is Gunther vs. Brock Lesnar. Gunther has solidified his position as the most illustrious Intercontinental Champion in WWE history, while Brock Lesnar needs no introduction, being arguably one of the greatest professional wrestlers in the business. Their faceoff at the Royal Rumble 2023 received an enormous response, laying the groundwork for a future showdown. With WrestleMania 40 on the horizon, WWE may opt to actualize this clash, which would undoubtedly elevate the overall match card significantly.

Becky Lynch vs Rhea Ripley (Women's World Championship)

If I were to be brutally Honest, there's no doubt that Rhea Ripley's current Women's World Championship reign has been disappointing. Her involvement with Judgment Day has indeed taken the spotlight away from her own character and title reign. Considering the apparent lack of success in the plans for Rhea, WWE may be inclined to remove the title from her. In this scenario, Becky Lynch emerges as a compelling choice to take the championship. With previous title wins, WrestleMania experience, and being regarded as one of the top women's wrestlers in WWE, Becky Lynch would be a suitable candidate to carry the title forward. Her proven track record and skills make her a strong contender for the championship.

Randy Orton vs Drew McIntyre

Randy Orton's highly anticipated return at Survivor Series has showcased him in peak form, on the other hand, Drew McIntyre has been undergoing a gradual character transition, portraying a role that straddles the line between anti-hero and traditional heel. Despite their intense and protracted feud from 2020 to 2021, a match between the two at WrestleMania would be a significant event. Both superstars are in need of formidable opponents for the grandest stage of them all, making this potential showdown a compelling prospect.

Bianca Belair vs Jade Cargill

The anticipated matchup between Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill at WrestleMania 40 has generated significant excitement. Jade, who recently joined WWE, has made several high-profile TV appearances but has yet to debut in the ring. Speculation suggests that her in-ring debut may occur imminently, possibly at the Royal Rumble, marking the commencement of her WWE journey. Given the anticipation surrounding her debut, it is widely believed that she deserves a marquee WrestleMania opponent, with Bianca Belair emerging as the prime candidate. The prospect of this matchup has garnered substantial fan interest. While it's plausible that Charlotte Flair may enter the fray, potentially transforming the bout into a triple threat match, current predictions lean toward a singles match.

CM Punk vs Stone Cold Steve Austin

This might seem like a fantasy booking for anyone, and some time prior this was definitely just like a match you would play in WWE 2k and think "yea that's not happening ever in real life" but now the time has changed drastically.

CM Punk has officially made his return to WWE at Survivor Series after almost 10 years. It was a record-breaking return, many (including myself) too saying its one of the best returns of all time. Now as CM Punk is finally back, it opens up all the doors for all the potential dreams matches we wanted to see while he was gone, and this might be the one of the biggest of them all.

Although there are plenty of speculations for CM Punk to fight with Seth Rollins for the WHC at WM, but CM Punk vs SCSA is definitely a all time dream match, and if it were to happen, WWE would surely do it as soon as possible, you can do the Seth match in the future too but you might not be able to get SCSA, considering he's getting older too and the more older someone gets, i think the less chances there will be for a dream match like this.

Seth Rollins vs LA Knight (World Heavyweight Championship)

Following his unsuccessful bid to dethrone Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Championship, LA Knight has vocally expressed his determination to continue pursuing the Bloodline and capturing the title. However, recent reports indicate that WWE may not be planning another showdown between Roman and LA Knight, at least not in the near future leading up to WrestleMania. With this in mind, it presents an opportune moment for LA Knight to potentially win the Royal Rumble and set his sights on challenging Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship. As one of the most popular babyfaces in WWE at present, such a match would undoubtedly captivate viewers' attention.

However, the outcome of this scenario may hinge on whether Steve Austin makes a return. As previously mentioned, if SCSA does return, then CM Punk would have a clear opponent in him. However, if Austin does not return, WWE might lean towards a matchup between Seth Rollins and CM Punk, thereby opening the door for LA Knight to face another significant adversary. Whatever unfolds, the developments in the lead-up to WrestleMania promise to be intriguing.

Cody Rhodes vs Roman Reigns (Undisputed WWE Universal Championship)

Cody Rhodes vs Roman Reigns is arguably the biggest rivalry in WWE right now. After alot of interferences, a lot of twist & turns, Cody was unable to Finish his Story, and fell short to defeating Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Championship at WM39 Night 2.

After The Rock appeared on the Pat McAfee Show talking about the Roman match and then appearing on SmackDown edition at the same night, the rumors lit up & it felt like we will finally see the ultimate Bloodline battle, The Rock vs Roman Reigns! But now as the time passed, the speculations has again dimmed, as the Hollywood Strike is now over as well, the chances, although still being there, are surely much less now. I personally have set my expectations extremely low & currently i do not think that Rock would be at WM40.

If the Roman vs Rock match doesn't happen, Roman vs Cody in a rematch again at the WM Night 2 seems like the perfect plan to go. WWE have already sparked this lights, having Roman & Cody have a face off not so long ago in a SD edition.

The Storyline for this match looks all set, with Cody Rhodes trying to capture the biggest title & finally FINISHING THE STORY!
