Match-Card : Preview, Break-down & Predictions -
The Miz vs Gunther (InterContinental Championship)
The clash between The Miz and Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship promises to be a momentous Battle. The Miz, an eight-time IC Champion, has long been associated with elevating the title's status, particularly through his memorable rivalry with Dolph Ziggler. Conversely, Gunther has reinvigorated the championship, establishing a new standard of prestige and holding the record for the longest reign as IC Champion. As these two iconic figures prepare to face off, the question of who truly stands as the greater champion looms large.
Now if we talk about the Result, its actually really Predictable. Gunther after having such a Historic title reign, the only place i can think of him getting dethroned is The Grandest Stage of them All, WrestleMania!
The Miz is undoubtedly one of the most underrated Wrestler on the roster, and it sucks to see him lose once again but it is what it is...
PREDICTION - GUNTHER RETAINS
Rhea Ripley vs Zoey Stark (Women's World Championship)
Since her call-up to the main roster, Zoey Stark has undeniably captivated audiences with her exceptional wrestling prowess. From her partnership with Trish Stratus to her rivalry with Becky Lynch, she has garnered invaluable experience from sharing the ring with some of the industry's biggest stars. Now, having secured the opportunity to shine independently by triumphing in a Battle Royal and earning the #1 Contender spot for the Women's World title, she stands poised to further demonstrate her capabilities.
While it may not be the right moment for Zoey to claim the championship, the anticipated outcome of this match appears clear. Nonetheless, this presents a significant opportunity for Zoey to showcase her skill set and solidify her standing within the Women's Roster.
PREDICTION - RHEA RIPLEY RETAINS
Dragon Lee vs Santos Escobar
There was numerous reports in the recent weeks suggesting that Santos Escobar might part ways with Rey Mysterio and leave LWO. Following a misstep at Crown Jewel, Carlito confronted Escobar, attributing Rey's loss of the US title to him. On the same night, Escobar attacked Rey, signaling his official turn to a heel persona and departure from LWO. With Rey Mysterio sidelined due to a recent knee surgery, it seems unlikely that he will return to action soon, leaving Santos to progress his rivalry with Carlito.
In the very next week, Santos delivered a compelling heel promo, targeting both Rey and Carlito. This set the stage for a singles match between Carlito and Santos Escobar at Survivor Series.
Until, the "go-home" edition of SmackDown for SS, as Carlito was cutting a promo on Santos Escobar, he came out and after a bit of heat battle they had a bit of a brawl where Santos was able to attack Carlito from the behind and injure him. On the same night, Carlito was seen being taken out in the backstage where Santos again attacked him but this time Dragon Lee came for his rescue but Carlito was already in a condition where he would not be able to compete,. Nick Aldis was then seen announcing that this match is postponed but Lee came in and asked for the opportunity against Santos, saying he wants to "teach him a lesson", Nick Aldis agreed & the match is officially set.
Now if we talk about the result, just gonna keep it short & simple, Dragon Lee has definitely impressed many with his in-ring work but Santos Escobar has just transitioned into his Heel persona and needs the win far more. Him losing wouldn't make any sense, although there could be a bit of shenanigans in the ending but i think Santos would pick up the W.
PREDICTION - SANTOS ESCOBAR
Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, Charlotte Flair, Shotzi vs Damage CTRL (Women's WarGames)
The ongoing storyline involving Damage CTRL, comprising Bayley, Dakota Kai, Iyo Sky, and the recent additions of Asuka and Kairi Sane, has unfolded over several months. It all began with Iyo winning the Women's Money in the Bank briefcase and successfully cashing it in at SummerSlam where the Triple Threat between Bianca Belair, Asuka & Charlotte Flair was taking place. This led to a feud with Bianca, who sought a rematch but was collectively attacked and sidelined by the group. They also found themselves in a rivalry with Charlotte and Shotzi. Bianca's eventual return for a rematch at Crown Jewel was thwarted by the interference of Kairi Sane, prolonging the intense feud.
The recent development of Asuka turning heel and aligning herself with Damage CTRL on SmackDown has added a new layer to the storyline. In response, the face team recruited Becky Lynch as their fourth member, setting the stage for the Women's WarGames.
Speculation has arisen due to subtle hints of conversations in Japanese between Iyo, Asuka, and Kairi, hinting at a potential betrayal or showdown within Damage CTRL, particularly involving Bayley. It is anticipated that an angle involving Bayley making a critical mistake, leading to their defeat, or a betrayal by Damage CTRL may occur at the conclusion of the match. With Becky's addition to the match, a loss for the face team would be surprising, especially considering the approaching WrestleMania season and the need for the babyfaces to maintain momentum. Therefore, the prevailing prediction is for the face team to emerge victorious, albeit with some form of shenanigans taking place.
PREDICTION - TEAM OF BECKY, BIANCA, CHARLOTTE & SHOTZI WINS
Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Seth Rollins, Jey Uso & Sami Zayn vs Judgment Day (Men's WarGames)
The highly anticipated Men's WarGames match featuring Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Seth Rollins, Jey Uso, and Sami Zayn against the team of Judgment Day, comprising Finn Balor, Damian Priest, Dominik Mysterio, JD Mcdonagh, and the newly added Drew McIntyre, is poised to be the highlight of the event. This long-standing rivalry has seen relentless conflict between Cody, Seth, Jey, and Sami against Judgment Day, and the WarGames match is expected to provide a definitive conclusion to this feud.
Drew McIntyre's unexpected entry as the fifth member of Judgment Day, motivated by his desire for retribution against Jey Uso for past transgressions, has added an intriguing dynamic to the match. On the other hand, the revelation of Randy Orton as the fifth member of Team Cody, after an extended absence due to a back injury, has generated significant anticipation. Despite initial rumors of Orton returning as a heel, his inclusion in the face team has sparked speculation about a potential betrayal, adding an element of unpredictability to the match.
Considering the prolonged duration of this rivalry, the prevailing sentiment suggests that the face team should emerge victorious to bring closure to the storyline. Each member of the face team has compelling reasons to secure a victory, from Cody's rumored rematch with Roman Reigns at WM40 to Jey Uso's impending match with Jimmy Uso at WM40, Seth's current status as the world champion, Randy Orton's highly anticipated return, and Sami Zayn's need for momentum leading into WrestleMania season.
While the face team appears to have strong motivations for victory, the potential for a dramatic betrayal by Randy Orton cannot be discounted, even after the match concludes. This possibility adds an additional layer of intrigue to the anticipated outcome. Therefore, while the prevailing prediction favors a victory for Team Cody, the prospect of unforeseen developments, particularly involving Randy Orton, looms large.
PREDICTION - TEAM OF CODY, RANDY, SETH, JEY & SAMI WINS
Will CM Punk return at Survivor Series?
Possibly the biggest question of this year's Survivor Series is, will CM Punk finally make his return in WWE after almost 10 years.
We all know it, things between CM Punk & WWE weren't that cool. A lot of Heat, Punk was often seen talking bad about WWE, basically there were 0% chance that CM Punk will ever return in WWE. But this have changed a lot in recent years. This all started when Punk was suspended from AEW for the first time after having some backstage altercation, in between that suspension he paid a visit backstage at a WWE Raw episode, where he was reportedly talking with some superstars, involving the current Chief Content Officer, Triple H, who has the control of the daily creative decision of the product. Even though after that CM Punk did return to AEW once again, he was then ultimately fired after his altercation again, now at AEW All In, which was AEW biggest show that took place in Wembley Stadium, London, UK. As his relations with Tony Khan, the owner of AEW has gone bitter a lot now, there's now way he's gonna ever return in AEW. This opened his doors for a return at WWE, which has far more chances considering he seemed to bury the hatchet with most of the people he had before.
Although the rumors were then still weak, until WWE presumably started some teasing, which fans could only think of a reference for CM Punk. Whether it was Shinsuke Nakamura hitting a GTS, or Corey Graves using some of his catchphrases and many more. It has been really Interesting, with the IWC imploding and ready for the return of the BEST IN THE WORLD!
Now if we talk about my predictions of will CM Punk return at SS or not, well in my perspective, after seeing all the teasers, a bit of hinting and everything i can make up from watching all the episodes of RAW and SmackDown, i think CM Punk is most definitely returning at Survivor Series. Shinsuke Namakura, who used the GTS, has been having a lot of video packages, where he has been in search for a real opponent, constantly saying "i'm tired of waiting" & "i know who you are". After considering all this, I'm pretty much convinced he WILL return at Survivor Series 2023, which makes sense too as CM Punk is a needle mover who sells merchandise, sell tickets and definitely improve the ratings. It doesn't matter how hard the things is, WWE always does what is best for the business, and CM Punk returning will surely help WWE bring more profits & Boom the Business even more.
